1 million rollers for conveyors from Alabuga: Akonit opened a new production

Yesterday, October 29, on the territory of the special economic zone "Alabuga", the opening of the plant for the production of conveyor rollers and metal structures "Akonit" took place.

This is already the fourth production site of NPO Akonit, one of the leaders in the Russian market for suppliers of integrated solutions in the field of conveyor transport and components. The head office of the company is located in Vologda, production sites - in Vologda, Kirov, Novokuznetsk and now - Alabuga in the Republic of Tatarstan. 

The project was initiated by the largest machine-building company NPO Akonit JSC. The volume of investments in new production amounted to 800 million rubles excluding VAT.

“We are opening a high-tech, modern, in many ways unique production. This is a huge step forward in product quality. We set this very task when we were just conceiving the project. It is also an impulse in the development of mechanical engineering, not only in a single region and not only for our company, but for the entire industry as a whole. This is the most modern plant and the most modern solutions, "said Dmitry Viktorov, director of NPO Akonit.

The opening of the plant took place in the new industrial park "Synergy". This is the first stage in the implementation of the project. The second is the construction of our own industrial building on a free plot of the territory of SEZ "Alabuga" with a total area of ​​5 hectares.

The new production facility will produce products of European quality level. The plant is equipped with high-quality technological equipment and is a unique automated line of the “digital factory” concept: the work is almost completely automated. The main consumers of the products are enterprises of mechanical engineering, metallurgy, chemical and coal industries.

JSC "Akonit-Ural" received the status of a resident of the SEZ "Alabuga" in July 2019. The production is designed for an annual output of 1 million conveyor rollers per year. 134 jobs will be created.

The new plant is not only a step towards import substitution in Russian engineering, but also an opportunity to realize the export potential. The products of the Akonit resident are competitive in European markets, which are cheaper than their foreign counterparts due to the purchase of domestic raw materials and the improvement of technological processes.
