Kastamonu plant, the resident of Alabuga SEZ, increases sales of laminate and fiberboards in 2023

Kastamonu plant, the resident of Alabuga Special Economic Zone, wrapped up the results for 2023. Thus, the plant increased sales for the first nine months of the last year.

In January-November 2023 56% of laminate was sold on the Russian market, and 44% of the produce was exported. In terms of wood fiberboard sales, 75% of the goods were shipped to Russian customers and 25% to customers in other countries.

The company notes that compared to 2022, the total share of sales in Russia has increased to 10%, and fiberboard sales in Russia and export figures have gone up by 16%.

Today, Kastamonu sells about 70% of its produce on the Russian market, and the company exports 30% of all manufactured materials. For instance, laminated flooring is shipped to Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, China, and Tajikistan.

Besides, Kastamonu won “The Best Goods and Services in the Republic Tatarstan” contest.

Evogloss decorative panels were recognized as the best in the “Industrial Consumer Goods” nomination.

Let us remind you that in 2014 Kastamonu plant was put into operation on the territory of SEZ Alabuga. The production capacity of the plant is 1.05 million m3 of MDF boards annually and 45 million m2 of laminate a year. Kastamonu plant created 930 jobs at the site itself and 2.5 thousand jobs in related timber, transport, and furniture industries. The total investment is over 25 billion rubles.

Alabuga SEZ is a full-cycle partner that provides the best utility, construction, social infrastructure, and personnel. In the territory of SEZ, there are over 30 unique import phase-out production facilities that are the leaders in their industry. The total amount of private investment is 166 billion rubles, with 16 thousand jobs created, and the residents’ revenue in 2022 amounted to 138 billion rubles.
