Projects of three new companies-residents of special economic zone «Alabuga» in the amount of 4 billion rubles approved today by the Supervisory Board of the SEZ, chaired by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
On obtaining resident status «August-Alabuga», «LANIT-Agro», «Rus-Kalander» claim. The investment project of «August-Alabuga» involves the production of a plants protection products. The founder of the project is the Russian company «August», which has its own production facilities in Russia, Belarus, China, Kazakhstan and sells its products through offices in 14 countries around the world. Its sales in 2015 amounted to about 15.8 billion rubles.
The planned volume of production of plants protection products on the territory of the special economic zone «Alabuga» is 30 million liters per year. The planned number of employees is 312 people. The planned start of production is the fourth quarter of 2018. According to General Director of JSC Company «August» Alexander Uskov, the company is now actively developing export routes, and potentially up to half of the plant’s output will be sent abroad.
Tatarstan President supported the project and called upon the management of the company to proceed to its implementation as soon as possible, starting construction later this year. In turn, the administration of SEZ should provide us all the necessary support.
The investment project of the company «LANIT-Agro» involves the production of feed for horses under license of Dutch company Pavo. Project investor is the Russian company «LANIT» — a diversified group founded in 1989. The company employs more than 6 000 people and its annual turnover of 91.3 billion rubles.
The planned volume of feed production in the factory in the «Alabuga» will be 3 thousand tonnes per year. The main raw material for production is barley, peas, corn, oats and alfalfa, and all of it will be purchased from suppliers in Tatarstan. The company’s production will be located in the «Synergy» industrial park. The term of the start of production — 4th quarter of 2016.
As the CEO of the company Oksana Zinovieva said, the new plant will be the first Russian producer of feed for horses under license of European companies. Currently, a contract for the supply of equipment has already been signed, and in May to begin production of the first machines.

The investment project of the company «Rus-Kalander» involves the construction of a plant to produce kalandered PVC film — components for linoleum. The initiators of the project are a group of companies «Service Area» — the supplier of flooring and related materials in Russia and the company «Komitex LIN», whose share accounts for 15% of the Russian market of linoleum.
The planned production volume of calendered PVC film in the SEZ «Alabuga» at the first stage of the project will amount to 2,765 tons per year. The planned number of employees as a result of the project — 85 people. Planned production start of the first phase of the project — the 3rd quarter of 2017.
Part of the funding sponsors of the draft planned to receive from the Industrial Development Fund, and Rustam Minnikhanov instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to support the project in the approval of applications.
The Supervisory Board approved all three projects. Now, potential residents must present their projects at the meeting of the Expert Council under the Ministry of Economic Development, after which they receive an «Alabuga» SEZ resident status.
Also during the meeting of the Supervisory Board CEO SEZ Timur Shagivaleev reported on the effectiveness of the management company SEZ. He noted that all the objectives set for the company in 2015 have been met. So, it was attracted 8 new residents, residents’ investments amounted to 12.4 billion rubles, capital investments of residents — 11.5 billion rubles, the proceeds of residents — 40.1 billion rubles. The amount of taxes paid by residents in 2015 amounted to 3.2 billion rubles.
T.Shagivaleev reported about management system, about the corporate university program and training. Rustam Minnikhanov praised the work of the management company and thanked the SEZ management.
