Today, in the factory of "Ford Sollers" company in the special economic zone "Alabuga" the production of updated crossover model Ford Kuga held a ceremonial launch. The ceremony was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Alexander Morozov, Deputy Chairman of "Vnesheconombank" and Member of the Board Tatiana Sakharova, president of Ford Sollers Mark Ovenden. Along with the Transit and Explorer models, Kuga has already been produced at the plant in "Alabuga", but to start a serial production of the updated model the new testing technology and quality control were introduced, substantial modernization of the equipment in the welding, painting and assembly shops was done. Before the start of the ceremony honored guests visited the production of body panels for Ford Kuga at the "Dzhoshkunoz" company which is another resident of the SEZ "Alabuga", and then visited the production plant of the Ford Sollers.
Welcoming ceremony guests, the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov expressed confidence that Ford Sollers will succeed in the Russian market. "The automotive market will go up, and we must be ready for this, said the President of Tatarstan. - We see you create beautiful cars, they have good prospects."
Deputy Chairman of the Board of "Vnesheconombank" Tatiana Sakharova, in turn, noted the long-term effective cooperation between the bank and Ford Sollers and expressed hope for the realization of new joint projects.
After solemn speeches and short video dedicated to the production of a new model, a new Ford Kuga entered the stage, and the guests of honor put on its hood their signatures. Rustam Minnikhanov also sat in the driver seat of a new car and tested emergency call system "ERA-GLONASS".
At the end of his visit to the factory, President of Tatarstan tested driving characteristics of the new car, taking a ride on the roads at the site of the SEZ "Alabuga".
