“Our team is operating at full capacity”: The Role of Alabuga Polytech College's student in the largest Russian-Chinese project

09.04.2024

In this update, we are highlighting the progress of construction at the Deng Xiaoping Logistics Complex site.

As of the beginning of the second quarter of 2024, construction on Russia's largest Deng Xiaoping logistics complex is halfway complete.

The construction team has erected 86% of the complex's metal frame and finished installing 20% of the sandwich panels. Additionally, significant progress has been made in laying profiled flooring on the roof of the logistics center, with 57% of the total volume now in place.

Furthermore, excavation works for the railway infrastructure are ongoing, with 552,000 m3 (76%) already completed. The installation of reinforced concrete trays is nearing completion, with over 1200 linear meters laid (84%) by the builders.

This dedicated team is driving forward the transformative project that will revolutionize logistics flow and connectivity between China and the Volga Federal County. Alabuga Polytech's first-year student, Ratmir Khakimov, despite his youth, is actively involved in coordinating project statements with managers and contributing to the development of financial models and budget planning.

“For me, as a future lawyer, this experience is invaluable,” he expressed.

It is worth noting that the initial area of the Deng Xiaoping Logistics Complex spans 65 hectares. The container platform's length will reach 1.05 km, enabling loading and unloading operations for an entire container train without the need for additional shunting, thus ensuring high efficiency and reduced logistical costs.

This logistics complex will provide a comprehensive range of services, including cargo storage, loading and unloading, order management, inventory tracking, weighing, labeling, and shipment consolidation. With an impressive design capacity of 100,000 containers per year, this facility is poised to significantly impact regional logistics operations.
