March 31, 2016 expired contract between the State Corporation «Rosatom» and the Holding Company «Composite» to control the production of «Argon» carbon fiber ZUKM plants, as well as new enterprise «Alabuga-fiber». From April 1, all the composite assets of Rosatom are under the direct control of the company «Khimpromengineering», which will be the basis in the new «Composite materials» division of the State Corporation.
During 2010-2012, a deep modernization was carried out at the plants. It managed to double the production capacity of «Argon» plant. The plant ZUKM has been greatly expanded the range and volume of products for the needs of Rosatom. Enterprises ZUKM and «Argon» ensure the fulfillment of the state defense order, and are the only suppliers in the Russian Federation producing strategically important products based on carbon fiber for the enterprises of the military-industrial complex.
In 2012, the Holding Company «Composite» commissioned by the State Corporation «Rosatom» has begun construction of a modern production plant «Alabuga-Fiber» carbon fiber. In May 2015 the plant was put into commercial operation. Plant equipment meets all international standards. The technology of carbon fiber developed by Russian engineers. The production capacity is over 1400 tons per year. Since the launch of the company established the brand manufacture of commercial batches of carbon fiber Umatex UMT 42-12K-EP and Umatex UMT 45-12K-EP. Interest in the production of «Alabuga-fiber» factory already showed manufacturers of composite materials from China. The first shipping carbon fiber brand Umatex exported to China in February 2016.
