On November 26, the Investor Relations Department team of the Alabuga SEZ completed a business mission to China, which began on November 18. Based on the results of the visit, it was possible to reach agreements with potential residents and present the advantages of Alabuga and the project for the development of the third stage at the international level.
On November 18, meetings with Chinese companies were held at ChinaCoat in Shanghai. One of which is the largest supplier of epoxy resin to Russia. Representatives of the company became interested in the conditions that Alabuga provides to residents and expressed their interest in the implementation of the project for the production of bisphenol and epichlorohydrin in Russia.
The working visit was to the Economic and Technical Development Zone of TEDA, where a joint award from fDi Magazine for “Cross-Border Cooperation” was transferred to us, this was received for the work on creating a joint venture in the territory of the SEZ “Alabuga”.
In addition, the head of the middle park of the Tianjin site, Luan Baolin, expressed support for finding additional parties and attracting investors to the territory of the future third stage.
The team of the SEZ “Alabuga” went to Foshan, where it met with the head of the city’s commerce department Mr. Su Yan the next day. The parties have identified priority areas for cooperation in assisting Chinese companies to locate production facilities on the territory of the Alabuga SEZ.
Alabuga also visited the Foshan City Industrial and High Technology Development Zone to exchange experiences and learn from international best practices in Guangdong Province.
On November 21, the presentation of the development project of the third stage was held by the leadership of the largest state conglomerate in the city of Shenzhen.
The next two days, the Alabuga team took part in The Belt and Road Global Chambers of Commerce and Associations Conference (GCCAC 2019), at which the Head of the Department “China” Evgeny Gorshkov made a presentation on the investment potential of the Alabuga SEZ.
Timur Shagivaleev, General Director of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, presented in Beijing a third-stage development strategy and a melamine production project for the Chinese company Sichuan Golden-Elephant Sincerity Chemical at the 6th Russian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission on Investment Cooperation in completing a business mission to China. In addition, a number of meetings were held as part of the work of the Intergovernmental Russian-Chinese Commission: the melamine production project in the territory of the SEZ “Alabuga” was presented to the President of the largest Chinese bank “China Development Bank” Ouyang Weimin and the General Co-Director of the Russian-Chinese Investment Fund Hu Bin.
