Mustafa Varank: Alabuga creates good conditions for Turkish companies

On December 5, the Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkey Mustafa Varank visited the Alabuga Special Economic Zone as part of a working visit. The guest was accompanied by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey in Russia Mehmet Samsar and the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Albert Karimov. The day before he took part in the opening of the XIX international exhibition “Engineering. Metalworking. Welding. Kazan ".

During the first visit, Mustafa Varank was presented economic zone infrastructure and how Alabuga creates favorable economic and investment conditions for residents.

The guests visited the existing Turkish enterprises: Kastamonu Integrated Wood Industry, Hayat Kimya, Trakia Glass Russ, Automotive Glass Alliance Rus and Coskunoz. The representative of Turkey was personally convinced that world-class industrial projects are being successfully implemented in Alabuga. 8 residents are currently doing business in the economic zone. 7 companies successfully demonstrate their achievements and one is at the development stage. More than two billion dollars were invested in these projects.

Hayat Kimya company doubled its total production volume and became the largest producer of sanitary and hygiene products from cellulose in Russia.

 “We have become the second largest player in the market. Our success convinced us of the need to double production capacity in Russia. We hope that further development of Russian-Turkish relations will allow us to develop production at a high level,” said Cetin Murat, General Director of Hayat Russia.

Mustafa Varank praised the infrastructure and service level that provided to residents. He noted that Alabuga is an excellent platform for the development of Turkish investment in the Russian market.

Tatarstan and Turkey are developing cooperation in economy, including energy, petrochemicals, mechanical engineering, construction, agricultural production and tourism. Alabuga Special Economic Zone attracts Turkish investors and opens up the potential of interstate cooperation for Russia.
