The company "Haier Industry Rus" and the SEZ "Alabuga" signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of microelectronics on October 14.
The parties were represented by the General Director of the company Sun Zhenhua and the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. According to the memorandum on the territory of SEZ "Alabuga" it is planned to create a production of component base and microelectronics for the needs of the company "Haier".
The new enterprise will produce basic electronics, printed circuit boards, microprocessors for refrigerators, televisions and other household appliances. The total investment in the creation of a new enterprise is estimated at 14.6 billion rubles. Estimated number of products per year: 2 million printed circuit boards, 1 million microprocessors, 88 million semiconductors of various types. The new production will create about 900 jobs.
On January 17 this year, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin approved the Strategy for the Development of the Electronic Industry of the Russian Federation for the Period until 2030. According to the strategy, the development of the Russian electronics industry will take place in three stages: an increase in the share of Russian electronics in the domestic market, the promotion of Russian electronics to international markets and a steady growth of the industry and ensuring its leading position in the world. The creation of a new production facility in the SEZ "Alabuga" is one of the steps towards the implementation of the Prime Minister's strategy.
The Chinese company "Haier" produces refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, laptops, water heaters and various kitchen appliances. It is the largest Chinese manufacturer of household appliances, with global revenues of about 2.2 trillion rubles. The products of this brand are sold in 160 countries of the world.
