Kastamonu becomes a leader in laminate and MDF export

The leading manufacturer of the woodworking industry in Russia, Kastamonu, has become the leader in terms of export volumes of laminated flooring and MDF boards.

The company specializes in the production of laminate from the 31st to the 33rd class of wear resistance, as well as various types of MDF boards, including moisture-resistant and fire-resistant. Today the production capacity of Kastamonu is 1.05 million m³ of MDF boards and 35 million m² of laminate flooring per year. In the laminate flooring category, this accounts for 1/5 of all products sold in the country. At the same time, 40% of the total volume of produced materials is exported from the plant in Tatarstan. Thus, laminate flooring is supplied to 27 countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

According to the analytical service Kastamonu, in 2020 the Russian branch of the company took first place among the enterprises of the woodworking industry for the export of MDF and laminate. At the same time, according to the Turkish Exporters Assembly Kastamonu, Turkey also took a leading position in its country in similar directions.

For Kastamonu Russia, this year was marked by a number of achievements, including leadership in the export of laminate and MDF to Uzbekistan and record shipments of goods per month across Russia. In July, Kastamonu announced plans to launch in 2021 a line of laminates of the highest - 34th - wear resistance class, as a result of which it is expected to strengthen the company's position in the Russian market.

Earlier, the business magazine Capital (Istanbul) included Kastamonu Russia in the rating of the largest foreign branches of Turkish companies: the company was ranked 20th in the list of 50 companies. When compiling the rating, the experts of the publication estimated the annual turnover of enterprises for 2019.

In Russia, the company actively cooperates with major developers, all-Russian and regional retail chains and distributors, and also participates in the implementation of many projects, including a renovation program in Moscow.
