Caring about the environment of the region.

Alabuga Polytech students recently participated in a significant environmental initiative in the Nizhnekamsk district of the Republic of Tatarstan. Over 100 students, committed to an active lifestyle, planted more than 3,000 pine seedlings this year. This event aligns with the socio-ecological efforts of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

The landscaping event was attended by several notable figures, including Maksim Paramonov, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the Nizhnekamsk Municipal District; Roman Fedotov, Director of the Nizhnekamsk Forestry State Budgetary Institution; Oler Yuryev, Head of the Zakamsk Territorial Administration at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan; and Ivan Kolchin, Project Manager for the Development of New Sites at the Alabuga Special Economic Zone.

"Our younger generation and students are actively participating in shaping our future. They are making history with their own hands. We are establishing a green ring around the city, allowing these young individuals to make a direct contribution to the development of Nizhnekamsk," said Paramonov.

Before the campaign commenced, the director of the Nizhnekamsk forestry conducted a master class for students on the art of planting tree seedlings. The seasoned gardener imparted valuable insights on the intricacies of tree planting and introduced the Kolesov sword, a specialized hand tool for planting seedlings. The students eagerly engaged in the activity, resulting in the successful planting of over 3,000 new seedlings, thereby significantly contributing to the greening of the region.

"It's encouraging to see such initiatives taking place. This program serves as an introduction for students, helping them understand Alabuga's perspective on ecology," commented Fedotov. The director of forestry also highlighted that Alabuga is set to plant 77 hectares of trees this year.

Kolchin outlined ambitious landscaping plans for the area, stating that approximately 5 million seedlings of both coniferous and deciduous species will be planted over the next 10 years. He emphasized that Alabuga is currently engaged in several significant projects within the republic, showcasing a compelling example of how industrial development can proceed in harmony with environmental considerations.

Recall that such an initiative has been taking place for the second year. During this time, the college students of Alabuga Polytech have planted over 9 thousand seedlings.
