Agreement for establishing of inter-regional industrial cluster “Composites without borders” was signed within the framework of Russian investment forum “Sochi-2018”. The agreement was signed by president of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, head of Moscow region Andrey Vorobyov, head of Saratov region Valery Radaev, first deputy CEO – director of sector on development and international business of “Rosatom” state corporation Kirill Komarov. SEZ “Alabuga” and located there “Alabuga-Volokno” carbo fiber plant became one of the key moments of new cluster.
The cluster is established at the discretion of UMATEX Group (Rosatom) – exclusive producer of carbon fiber in Russia – in cooperation with Association of clusters and technology parks.
The main purpose of the cluster is to provide stable growth of new composite market and also to create a full chain of polymer composite materials production: raw materials, different types of chemical fibers, semi-finished and final products for consumers. It will enable to reduce level of imported raw materials and components for final product production. 20 entities of composite sector, 5 russian universities and 2 places of technological infrastructure – SEZ “Alabuga” and technopolis “Khimgrad” - announced their participation.
Let us recall that “Alabuga-Volokno” plant on carbon fiber production is located in SEZ “Alabuga”, and the plant on raw material – Pan-precursor – will be also built there. Moreover, there are all conditions and facilities for establishing new entities that produce final products from composites.
