The distinguished guest familiarized themselves with the infrastructure and capabilities of the Special Economic Zone.
The Alabuga Special Economic Zone welcomed Xiang Bo, the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Kazan, during his recent visit.
In his assessment, the Sino-Russian bilateral relations have ascended to an unprecedented stage of collaboration, with the Republic of Tatarstan emerging as a particularly dynamic and vibrant region. This territory has distinguished itself as a pivotal hub for deepening cooperation with China, simultaneously capturing substantial interest and generating significant enthusiasm among numerous Chinese corporate entities.
During the visit, the Consul General toured the modern logistics complex, evaluating its scale and potential for enhancing trade and economic relations between Russia and China.
This year marked the launch of the first stage of the facility, which saw the inaugural train carrying agro-industrial products from the Republic of Tatarstan depart from the complex's container terminal. The terminal boasts a capacity for 8,000 containers for one-time storage and features a site length of 1.05 kilometers.
The Consul also got acquainted with the territory of the Alabuga SEZ, seeing firsthand its size and prospects. Alabuga is one of the largest and most successful industrial—type special economic zones in Russia and even in Europe. “Today I was convinced of its power and perspective. Here I saw that there are modern conditions, convenient infrastructure, many large factories and companies,” he said.
During his working trip, AURUS, a premium car manufacturing plant, was visited by Xiang Bo, who was shown the production facilities and a variety of cars.
During the visit, significant attention was devoted to the Alabuga Polytech educational center. The Consul General explored the training programs and the distinctive infrastructure designed to nurture highly skilled specialists for the contemporary economy.
“Alabuga Polytech is a distinctive educational institution dedicated to training qualified personnel for the entirety of Russia,” remarked the Consul General.
The guest noted that the Consulate General of China is eager to establish and maintain communication with the leadership of Alabuga to collaboratively enhance cooperation.
The Alabuga Special Economic Zone stands as a robust industrial hub, encompassing approximately 40 cutting-edge import-substituting industries that are leaders in their respective sectors. As of now, the zone has successfully generated over 17,000 employment opportunities. The total investment in this economic region has reached an impressive 171 billion rubles, with residents generating a substantial revenue of 179 billion rubles in 2023.
