SEZ «Novgorodskaya»and Sber have signed cooperation agreement at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The main purpose of the document is to expand cooperation in the financial and credit sphere, in the sphere of social and economic development, the implementation of investment and social projects in the region. Under the concession agreement it is planned to finance, create and operate a university campus of the Special Economic Zone «Novgorodskaya» in Veliky Novgorod.

The task of the Novgorod campus is that the staff will be trained not only for the SEZ «Novgorodskaya», but for the industrial area of Veliky Novgorod in general. There are will live four thousand people in the new campus, not only students, but teachers and graduates of the campus, who will be able to stay in the city and find jobs, - said the general director of SEZ «Novgorod»Arthur Ayupov. - We have signed a long-term cooperation agreement. The bank believes that by 2026 we will construct everything and we will have a great campus. Thanks to this agreement, we can already start the construction of the project».

«We believe in this project. We start financing in order to speed up the terms, although we do not have a signed concession agreement yet. The sooner the project starts, the sooner we will finish it,»said the chairman of the North-West Bank of Sberbank PJSC Victor Ventimilla Alonso. - SEZ «Novgorodskaya» has a favorable location between Moscow and St. Petersburg, which contributes to the active and effective development of the site. This agreement will allow the implementation of major infrastructure, investment and educational projects aimed at improving the competitiveness of not only the Novgorod region, but the entire North-West region.

As reminder, the initiative of SEZ «Novgorodskaya» to create modern university campuses in the region is being implemented thanks to the national project «Science and Universities». Application of the Novgorod region for construction of a modern university campus was approved by the Russian government last December. The total amount of the project is 10 billion rubles, where funds come from the federal and regional budgets.

The campus is designed for 4000 seats; the building area is 75 thousand square meters. It is planned to accommodate accommodation, as well as sports grounds, a fitness club, a technology park, self-development facilities such as a co-working room and a lecture hall, cafes and restaurants, stores, and much more.
