Ford Sollers reports that a twenty-five thousandth engine of Russian production came off the assembly line in a high-tech engine-building plant of the company in the special economic zone «Alabuga».
Since the founding of the engine plant in September 2015, Russian atmospheric gasoline engines have already been equipped with three Ford models, the production of which is set up at the plants in Naberezhnye Chelny and Vsevolozhsk. Crossover Ford EcoSport received a 1.6 liter Duratec engine with 122 hp, the new Ford Fiesta in sedan and hatchback versions — engines 85, 105 and 120 hp, and the new Ford Focus — 1.6 liters Duratec capacity of 85, 105 and 125 hp.
As part of the long-term strategy to localize Ford Sollers, from the very start of production the engines produced in Alabuga receive all the main components from Russian suppliers and are produced from local raw materials.
The plant is equipped with advanced, high-tech equipment, which allows automating production processes by 95%. The maximum annual capacity of the Ford Sollers engine plant is 200,000 engines per year. At least 30% of Ford cars produced in Russia will be equipped with local engines. Investments in the construction of the Ford Sollers plant for the production of engines amounted to $ 275 million.
According to the press service of the company
