A resident of "Alabuga" will increase fivefold the shipments of products along the river.

A resident of the special economic zone «Alabuga» the company KASTAMONU plans to increase five times the volume of shipment of finished products by water transport in 2017. The share of this type of transport in the total volume of supplies should increase to 20%.
Woodworking plant of KASTAMONU company in SEZ «Alabuga» produces MDF-panels and laminate. Currently, most of the finished products are shipped to customers by road — more than 80%. The share of water transport accounts for up to 4% of the total. However, in 2017 the company plans to substantially increase the share of water transport in shipments of finished products for its customers.
With the beginning of navigation on the Volga and the Kama, KASTAMONU is stepping up the development of water routes for delivering its products to consumers in the basins of the Volga and Kama rivers, as well as the Caspian, Black and Mediterranean seas. In 2017 the share of water transport in shipments is planned to increase to 20%.
The provision of all types of transport infrastructure is an important competitive advantage of the special economic zone «Alabuga». The presence of a railway line and the federal highway in the immediate vicinity of the site, as well as a large navigable river with berthing walls and port, allows residents of the SEZ to supply raw materials and finished products in a variety of directions and along the most profitable routes.
