Special economic zone "Alabuga" is named the best SEZ in Europe for large tenants in the “Global free zones 2016” ranking of the fDi Intelligence magazine. SEZ "Alabuga" enters the list of the best special economic zones for 5 years, starting in 2012, but this year Tatarstan SEZ most highly awarded in several nominations.
fDi Intelligence – Financial Times Group issue –assigns "Alabuga" SEZ title of the best in Europe for large tenants for the second year in a row. Authors commended "Alabuga" for the expansion of existing production facilities residents, in particular, for the construction of the second line of KASTAMONU woodworking plant.
The most successful Russian SEZ is also commended by the expansion of infrastructure – there are new railway line, a fire station and pipeline network expanding planned for construction in "Alabuga".
Special mention "for the support of education and training" has been awarded for a new project of SEZ "Alabuga" - corporate university. There were 25 talented students from all over Russia selected out of 1600 applicants and passed the 3-month industrial management training on the basis of plants of "Alabuga’s" resident companies. It is now planning the second set of corporate university training that will begin in February, 2017.
High place of the special economic zone "Alabuga" in such prestigious ranking is an important international recognition of the achievements of the most successful Russian SEZ and it will help to attract new investors both from Russia and from abroad.
