24.11.2017
Kastamonu took part in the FSC environmental rating for the producers and sellers of furniture, flooring and interior doors GoodWood 2017. Based on the results of assessment of the compliance of products with leading environmental standards, the company became the winner in the category Manufacturers and Sellers of Floor Coverings. The award was presented to the General Director of Kastamonu in Russia Ali Kılıç.

In 2017, dozens of companies from the sphere of production and sale of furniture, flooring and interior doors were evaluated to summarize the results of the rating. The rating takes into account such criteria as the legality of the origin of the wood used and absence of rare species in the assortment of wood, safety of products for health, and degree of soundness of the company’s environmental policy.

«The availability of the FSC certificate, as well as the compliance of the quality characteristics of products with the leading international standards for ecology and security, is gradually becoming an important element in building partnership relations between raw materials suppliers, manufacturers and retailers,» said Ali Kılıç. «In its turn, the sign GoodWood is a confirmation of the ecological compatibility of floor coverings used by consumers and professionals from the field of interior design and architecture. And we are sincerely glad that the quality of our products is confirmed by such authoritative international environmental organizations.»

The Good Wood 2017 Award was established by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) of Russia, WWF Russia, Association of Furniture and Woodprocessing Enterprises of Russia (AMDPR) and non-profit partnership National Bureau of Ecological Standards and Ratings of Russia and the CIS (NBESR).

Focusing on the principles of sustainable forest management, Kastamonu consistently expands the environmental direction of its activities and actively participates in the projects of the world’s largest environmental organizations.
