Sber and a partner-company SberDevices (OOO SalutDevaisi) plan to move up to 50% of smart TV production to the territory of SEZ Novgorodskaya. The investment project was presented during the meeting of the supervisory board of SEZ.
“Novgorod region will manufacture TVs again. It is a historical event for us,” said Andrey Nikitin the Governor of Novgorod oblast. “It is a modern production, local operation system. We are happy, that they have selected specifically our region for production. It is a great example of import phase-out production, new jobs for Novgorod residents and the budget tax revenues. Today Sber is our reliable partner in many projects. We are ready to enhance cooperation,” added the Governor.
The production site will be equipped in 2024, and the start of production is planned for the fourth quarter of the next year. The area of 7,500 m2 will be rented for the production site.
Modern machinery will be used at production. 200 highly-qualified staff will work at the site. The majority of key technological operations is going to be automated that will reduce cost of manufacturing. In addition all TVs to be produced will go through rigorous quality control.
Let us recall that Novgorodskaya SEZ under the supervision of Alabuga SEZ was established in 2021 as a result of the signed agreement on collaboration between Alabuga SEZ and Novgorod region.
Novgorodskaya SEZ has a unique location between Moscow and Saint-Petersburg that, in combination with the Alabuga’s experience in investment attraction and management, makes Novgorodskaya SEZ more appealing for investment and the state.
