On May 31, a solemn ceremony was held on the territory of SEZ «Alabuga» to celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of the production of Aurus cars. The event was attended by Nikolay Khodosevich, CEO of Aurus LLC, Timur Shagivaleev, CEO of SEZ «Alabuga», and Rustem Nuriev, Head of the Yelabuga Municipal District.
«We are proud that it is here in the Republic of Tatarstan, in the best and most advanced SEZ «Alabuga», that a full-scale production of these cars has been created. The grandiose project was implemented in record time. With the joint efforts of the plant's staff, with the support of the builders of SEZ, one of the most high-tech automotive industries in Russia was created and launched» - with these words, the solemn ceremony of celebration began.
Recall that production with a capacity of up to 5,000 cars per year was launched by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in the Synergy-2 Industrial Park on May 31, 2021, which was completely built by «Alabuga Development».
«We are very grateful to SEZ «Alabuga» for making this project in such a format that a lot of help was provided with the premises, with its preparation, and with the shortest possible time for which it had to be done», Nikolai Khodosevich, CEO of Aurus LLC, said in his address.
«I believe that we have a lot of work ahead of us to deeply localize the entire automotive industry, including a brand like Aurus. There are times ahead of us when all the components of the car must be 100% localized in our country. We must be the best in the world, we must be competitive, localized, earning enough money both to pay good salaries to employees and to have money left for further modernization of development. Moreover, you know that Aurus is a multi–brand, multi-platform country plan. Both Aurus helicopters and Aurus aircraft are planned, including they will be produced on the territory of our Republic. And I would like to emphasize once again that our country, in my opinion, deserves its premium brand, which will supply both inside the country and outside – which means we must do everything necessary. It should be noted that now there is no shortage of spare parts and components at the enterprise. Moreover, about 60% of the components are Russian and this percentage is constantly growing, the company has been working on this since the opening of the plant and plans to constantly increase the use of domestic components.
Such large-scale projects are not done on an ordinary plot of land. To improve the investment climate in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the country, it is necessary to create the best conditions for the implementation of the project – a ready-made power grid infrastructure, profitable technical connection to energy resources, tax preferences, and trained modern personnel who study at the largest educational center «Alabuga Polytech».
SEZ «Alabuga» is now a full-cycle partner for investment projects, directly participating in financing and construction, which is important for the needs of Russian industry. Now there is a strategically important task for the country to create its own production facilities, thereby ensuring the national security of the state and improving economic well-being.
