Today, on January 23, there was a business meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on the social and economic situation in the region. In particular, Minnikhanov praised the projects implemented in the special economic zone «Alabuga».
«The special economic zone Alabuga is working well, where both Sollers and Aurus are working well» Minnikhanov reported. According to him Alabuga together with Technopolis «Himgrad» in Kazan gives almost 10 % of industrial production.
As a reminder, the mass production of AURUS cars on the territory of SEZ started in May 2021 in the ready industrial areas «Synergy» which were built and provided to the investor by Alabuga thanks to the 1119 program. Ready industrial areas are a good tool to support investors.
In addition to that, on November 26, 2022 the process of serial production of AURUS Komendant cars was launched on the «Alabuga» platform. This is the first Russian luxury SUV that will be fully produced in our country. The components are mainly supplied by Russian manufacturers. According to Vladimir Putin, this project is another incentive for the development of the region:
«Tatarstan is already in the forefront in many respects, but by creating modern jobs and increasing tax revenues, which are necessary to solve social problems, Tatarstan will make another step forward».
SEZ «Alabuga» pays serious attention to social infrastructure. On the territory of the special economic zone there is the largest in Russia training center for skilled workers with a capacity of 10,000 people a year Alabuga Polytechnic, where students study in the most popular specialties with modern high-tech equipment. College students are guaranteed high scholarship, comfortable housing and official employment. Alabuga Polytechnic plays an important role in providing the national industry with specialists and solves the problem of national security of the country.
The President of the Republic also told that Tatarstan is actively working on import substitution. One such example is the Sollers Alabuga plant where on November 26,2022 has launched the production of two new models of light commercial vehicles Atlant and Argo under their own brand.
Touching upon the topic of the oil industry, Rustam Minnikhanov separately noted the creative work with SIBUR. Earlier the company and SEZ Alabuga signed an agreement on the creation of industrial park «Ethylene-600». The total volume of investments in the project is 1,3 trillion rubles, the investments of «Alabuga» will amount to about 169 billion rubles. This decision creates a unique window of opportunity for manufactures of goods for medicine, construction, housing and utilities sector and other industries, the raw material for which can be oil and gas chemical products of SIBUR enterprise in Nizhnekamsk.
It is expected that SEZ «Alabuga» will provide the industrial park and its residents with infrastructure to develop existing and create new import-substituting productions.
«Alabuga» is the № 1 special economic zone in Russia. More than 30 unique import-substituting productions, which are leaders in their industries, are located on the territory of SEZ. The total amount of private investment is 162 billion rubles; 10.5 thousand workplaces were created.
