On June 21, SEZ «Alabuga» received representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey. Among the guests was also the Chairman of the Board of the Organized Industrial Zone «Gebkim», Chairman of the Board of the group of companies «Koruma» Wefa Ibrahim Araji. The management of Alabuga presented to the guests the largest educational center for the training of working specialties «Alabuga Polytech» with a capacity of 10 thousand students annually and a number of the largest factories located in SEZ.
Representatives of the Turkish government and business became interested in the unique system of training at «Alabuga Polytech» and the selection of applicants based on the business simulation «Business cats». The simulation was developed by SEZ «Alabuga» to identify analytical abilities and leadership qualities.
The delegates highly appreciated the college's capabilities to solve the urgent problem of the shortage of qualified personnel at companies. The peculiarity of «Alabuga Polytech» is its focus on obtaining practical knowledge, where teachers and mentors are engineers from the world's leading factories. The delegation paid great attention to environmental issues. In particular, the work of SEZ on the reconstruction of treatment facilities in the city of Yelabuga. With the help of the monitoring system, the guests were able to observe the work in real time and even control the water treatment plant from the training laboratory in the educational center.
Then the guests visited the leading company of SEZ «Alabuga», among which the largest Turkish investors were noted. The inspection began with the plant «Shishedzham Automotive Rus» to produce ssautomotive glass, where the delegates inspected the work of the glass kiln, as well as warehouses with finished products.
Then the leading company of the woodworking industry of Russia – Kastamonu, part of the Turkish holding HAYAT, was visited. The factory specializes in the production of FDF, LDF and OSB panels. For 7.5 years, the resident company has produced 100 million square meters of laminate for the domestic market.
The guests also visited the factory «P-D Tatneft-Alabuga Fiberglass». The plant has been operating on the territory of SEZ since 2010. The company occupies a large share in the market of fiberglass and products based on it in the construction, automotive, shipbuilding and other fields.
High indicators were also noted in the production of «MMK-JOSHKUNOZ-ALABUGA» steel billets. SEZ «Alabuga» acted as a co-investor of the project. Moreover, Alabuga is not only a full-cycle infrastructure partner but will also act as a co-investor in private projects worth 200 billion rubles.
At the end of the tour, the management of SEZ «Alabuga» presented the potential of SEZ for colleagues from Turkey. The delegation highly appreciated the contribution of the management company of SEZ in seriously promoting business development between the republics.
Today, Alabuga is a full–cycle infrastructure partner that provides the best conditions and opportunities for investors. SEZ «Alabuga» has long ceased to be an ordinary land plot with connected communications and tax benefits, being at the moment a grid company with its own power grid and lowering infrastructure, having its own construction company, a modern training center for workers and an international school.
