A pilot zone will be created in Alabuga to test intelligent transportation systems

21.09.2022

On September 21, during the international forum Kazan Digital Week 2022, Timur Shagivaleev, General Director of the Special Economic Zone «Alabuga» and Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the State Budget Organization «Road Traffic Safety» signed an agreement on participation in creating a pilot zone for conducting experiments and testing intelligent transport systems on the territory of the largest Russian SEZ «Alabuga».

The agreement is about the participation of the parties in the realization of creation of a pilot zone for providing the possibility to carry out experiments and approbation of technologies of intellectual transport systems providing movement of highly automated vehicles on public highways.

The test site will be the territory of the special economic zone «Alabuga» and the adjacent sections of the regional public road. The total length of the route will be 9.2 km. The first stage of the pilot zone will be put into operation at the end of the second quarter of the next year. All types and models of unmanned vehicles will be tested on the roads of the pilot zone, as well as their interaction with the road transport infrastructure will be tested. Scientific, methodological and normative-technical bases will be created based on the results of the experiments.

«Alabuga» is the infrastructure partner of the full cycle, which provides not only the best engineering, construction, financial infrastructure, but also human and social infrastructure. This allows investors to remove the problem of finding qualified personnel for new enterprises.
