Alabuga International School became a member of the Council of International Schools

Established by the special economic zone «Alabuga» Alabuga International School received the status of the official status of a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) — the main organization in the field of international education for the accreditation of schools, promoting the highest standards and the latest achievements in the field of education.

Thus, Alabuga International School became the first in the Volga region and fifth International School in Russia, received this status.

Becoming a member of the CIS, Alabuga International School has confirmed its compliance with international standards organization of school life and the learning process: school management, personnel management, teacher professional development, finance, security, health care, work and economic life. In addition, entry into the CIS community opens up broad prospects for the development and continuous improvement of the school. Thus, AIS proves its commitment to achieving the highest quality education.

Today CIS community includes 697 schools and 508 colleges and universities from 112 countries. Council of International Schools is working with the 50 best universities in the world.

The process of accreditation of schools took almost two years. First, the school administration has received CIS standards in all areas of activity — from the lesson to the dining room, it assessed according to them their work and describe it, and prepared a plan of perfection. The next step in the school sent to experts, who evaluate the work of the school: attend lessons, talking to children, teachers, parents — look how the school self-assessment corresponds to what is really happening there. After the visit, the school receives advice and develops its development plan.

CIS specialist for support and assessment of international schools Leslie Stagg has visited Alabuga International School on March 14-15, 2016. According to its results Board formed a report about AIS compliance with the highest standards and principles of international education. Leslie Stagg said: «AIS heart — it is the pupils who are the top priority, and the inspiration of the school».

Head of support and evaluation of the Council of International Schools Department Graham Ranger also congratulated the AIS with the entry into the community of CIS and expressed readiness and willingness to provide full support Alabuga International School in the future.

Finally today AIS director Lorraine Butler, solemnly announced the introduction of the International School Alabuga International School in the CIS entire school community: «We have confirmed the international orientation of the school, the observance of the Code of ethics and principles of CIS, as well as readiness for further development», — Lorraine Butler said.

For reference: Alabuga International School is the first International School in the Volga region. It was created by «Alabuga» special economic zone with the purpose to increase the investment attractiveness of the region. The school opened in September 2014, the teaching of it is in English on the British procedure by teachers from abroad. Currently, the school has children from 3 to 8 years.

The educational environment created in the AIS provides the all-round development of children. The school has a music and sports halls, a library, a medical unit, catering department. In 2016, the school opened a boarding school for day care of children. One of the main tasks Alabuga International School is to develop in children a positive thinking and a positive attitude towards other children.
