SEZ Novgorodskaya and Sber have signed a loan agreement to finance the construction of a modern university campus in Veliky Novgorod.

Sber and the SEZ Novgorodskaya have signed a loan agreement to finance the construction of a modern campus of Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University.

The campus in Veliky Novgorod will be one of the first in the country to be financed by Sber on the basis of public-private partnership under a concession agreement concluded between the Novgorod SEZ and the Government of the Novgorod Region. The total volume of bank lending will amount to 3.5 billion rubles. Financing is scheduled to start in early October.

We plan to build all the necessary infrastructure at an accelerated pace» said Artur Ayupov, General Director of the SEZ Novgorodskaya. - Industrial development of the region is impossible without qualified personnel, and thanks to the creation of the campus, SEZ «Novgorodskaya» will train specialists similar to the way it is done now in SEZ «Alabuga». Our plans are to attract students from all over Russia to come to Veliky Novgorod to study».

A modern university campus in Veliky Novgorod is being created by the SEZ Novgorodskaya in partnership with the Government of the Novgorod Region and Novgorod State University. The construction is planned to be completed by the end of 2026. The complex will consist of 5 residential buildings where at least 4 thousand students and employees will be able to live and work.

In addition to residential premises, a multifunctional building will be created, which will house social infrastructure facilities. There will also be sports grounds, fitness club, technopark, points for self-development - co-working and lecture hall, cafes and restaurants, stores and much more.

The federal project «Construction of a network of modern campuses», which includes Novgorod campus, is realized within the framework of the national project «Science and Universities» of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

As a reminder, the resolution on creation of the special economic zone «Novgorodskaya» under the management of SEZ «Alabuga» was signed in July 2021 by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin. At the moment the first production building with the area of 38 thousand square meters has been erected, 80% of the premises have already been reserved by tenants. Commissioning of the building is scheduled for December this year.
