SEZ «Novgorodskaya» expanded with new residents for 3.5 billion rubles

23.09.2022

Today, September 23, the first Supervisory Board of «Novgorodskaya» Special Economic Zone was held under the chairmanship of Novgorod Region Governor Andrei Nikitin.

SEZ «Novgorodskaya» (under the management of SEZ «Alabuga») was created in 2020 as a result of signing a cooperation agreement between SEZ «Alabuga» and the Novgorod region. «The site in Veliky Novgorod was not chosen by «Alabuga» by chance. Firstly, everything starts with the leadership - the Governor of the Novgorod region is a very decisive person, who is ready to take unconventional decisions for the development of his region. Secondly, the Alabuga team is given carte blanche to work on the principles on which Alabuga operates. Therefore the experience of Alabuga can be effectively applied in the Novgorod oblast. - commented Timur Shagivaleev, General Director of SEZ «Alabuga».

SEZ «Novgorodskaya» has a unique location between Moscow and St. Petersburg, which, combined with the use of investment attraction and management experience of «Alabuga» makes the new SEZ «Novgorodskaya» even more attractive for investors and the state. The application by Alabuga of the world's best practices will also contribute to the active and effective development of the site.

At the past Supervisory Board future residents have presented promising projects. The General Director of LLC «PREFABRICA SEVERO-ZAD» Alexander Gornov informed about investments in amount of more than 3,1 billion rubles and creation of 273 workplaces. The company will produce house sets of heavy and light concrete by August 2025.

The project for the production of complete switchgears and transformer (distribution) substations was also considered. The project was presented by Konstantin Biryukov, the director general of LLC «Novgorod Electric Systems». The volume of investments will amount to 380 million rubles and will create 75 jobs, and the production is planned to start already in April 2024.
