The largest Russian SEZ "Alabuga" was visited by members of the State Duma Committee

Today, July 21, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy Maxim Topilin, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Vakhrukov, State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Alexey Sazanov and members of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy paid a working visit to the special economic zone «Alabuga». During the meeting were visited import-substituting enterprises and highly evaluated the educational center for training skilled workers «Alabuga Polytechnic» capacity of 10 thousand people annually and social infrastructure facilities.

Special economic zone «Alabuga» is now the most successful special economic zone on the territory of the Russian Federation, and for investment projects it is a full cycle partner, providing the best engineering, construction, personnel and social infrastructure. There are 33 operating plants in Alabuga, which are leaders in their industries - Rosatom, Aurus, Kastamonu, Hayat. Total amount of private investments makes 157 billion rubles, more than 9,5 thousand workplaces are created, and proceeds of «Alabuga» residents for 2021 made 136 billion rubles.

The guests visited one of the backbone enterprises of Russian economy - Elabuga Battery Plant LLC producing car batteries and the PAN-Prekursor plant - the only enterprise in Russia producing carbon materials required for the wing, mechanization elements and tail fins of the MS-21-300 passenger airliner being created in Russia - UMATEX company (Rosatom). «Alabuga» financed up to 50% of the expenses for the creation of the new composite plant of «Rosatom». The investments in the project made about 8,5 billion rubles.

It is important to emphasize that such large-scale import-substituting projects are not done on an ordinary land plot. To improve the investment climate in the subjects of the Russian Federation and the country as a whole, it is necessary to create better conditions for project implementation - ready power grid infrastructure, favorable technical connection to energy resources, tax preferences, and trained modern personnel. This is what has already been implemented in the SEZ «Alabuga».

Example of Umatex is not the only one, today Alabuga finances projects aimed at import substitution to create domestic competitive enterprises. Thus, Alabuga allocated over 200 billion rubles for 5 years to finance new private projects. Thus, Alabuga will become one of the main sites for import substitution in the Russian Federation.

After visiting the enterprises in «Alabuga» a strategic meeting was held, where the results of the special economic zone «Alabuga» for 2021, breakthrough mechanisms to attract investors in the current realities, as well as the possibility of implementing best practices of creating infrastructure, as in China, were discussed.
