Polymatiz launched the production of 2.4 million medical masks

On April 13, in the SEZ "Alabuga" launched a line for the production of protective masks.

"Polymatiz" started the production of personal protective equipment. The company is the largest producer of nonwovens in Russia with a total volume of 17 thousand tons of products per year.

Specialists installed the equipment and received product samples in just a day. The company is completing commissioning. The line's capacity will be 2.4 million units of personal protective equipment per month.

The mask production line was delivered from China on April 10 by a cargo plane on behalf of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The same flight delivered 6 million finished masks and five more lines for the production of medical masks. The total capacity of the lines will exceed 15 million masks per month.

Recall that on March 25, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Polymatiz plant. During the visit, the enterprise management reported that it was ready to increase the production of material by 10 times. The President instructed to study the issue of using fabric for the production of masks for the republic.

Polymatiz allocated non-woven material for sewing 100 thousand pieces of medical masks. They are distributed to volunteers and social workers.

Polymatiz was registered as a SEZ “Alabuga” resident in April 2007 to implement an investment project for the production of modern non-woven materials of the spanbond type. The total investment amounted to 1.46 billion rubles. Created more than 120 jobs. 250 tons of products are made monthly for the production of medical masks.
