Prospects for the development of Rosatom in Alabuga were discussed at a meeting with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov discussed the implementation of joint projects with the General Director of Rosatom Alexey Likhachev. The meeting was also attended by Timur Shagivaleev, CEO of the SEZ “Alabuga”.

At the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that Tatarstan is developing cooperation with the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom in a number of areas. In particular, a lot of work is going on in the field of digitalization and automation. “The carbon fiber plant in the Alabuga special economic zone has good and positive dynamics,” said the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan also emphasized the importance of further development of Rosatom projects in the territory of the SEZ Alabuga. “We are ready to provide all necessary support to UMATEX projects for the production of high-tech composite products if it is placed on the site of the Alabuga special economic zone,” added Rustam Minnikhanov.

Alexey Likhachev also noted the productivity of cooperation between Rosatom State Corporation and the Republic of Tatarstan regarding the development of the composite cluster: “I express my gratitude to you personally, your colleagues and comrades for the work done. We are not even in the middle now; we are in the first third of the way. Huge joint plans are ahead, we understand the stages and they are spelled out in detail in the way until 2025”

“Alabuga-Fiber” is a modern carbon fiber production plant, which is part of the Rosatom UMATEX Group. The capacity of the production line is more than 1,400 tons per year. The official opening of the plant took place in May 2015. The total investment is more than 4.13 billion rubles. 160 jobs created.
