The 50,000th Ford Transit stepped off the assembly line of the Ford Sollers plant in Alabuga. The all-metal van of red color Race Red with an average base and Duratorq diesel engine of 2.2 liters (125 hp), with a total permissible weight of 3.1 tons became the jubilee vehicle of the iconic for the Russian LCV model market.
The production of Ford Transit in Russia started in early 2012. It was Ford Transit that first got on the conveyor of the Ford Sollers plant in Tatarstan. Today, the plant in Alabuga produces the Ford Transit of the last, 4th generation in full cycle technology — with welding and painting the bodywork.
According to the results of 2016 and the first 8 months of 2017, Ford Transit is the leader of the Russian market in the segment of commercial vehicles among foreign brands. The success of Ford Transit is provided by the widest line of special versions (over 55 modifications) that are produced in partnership with accredited bodywork builders with the support of the Ford Sollers R&D center in accordance with strict Ford quality standards. Today Ford Transit vans and minibuses are used throughout Russia to deliver mail and goods, work in the ambulance service, take children to schools, carry out city and intercity transportation and effectively solve the tasks of small and medium-sized businesses.
