Rustam Minnikhanov: Alabuga is the best special zone in Russia
On March 25, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the SEZ “Alabuga”. He was accompanied by Alexander Morozov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Timur Shagivaleev, the CEO of the SEZ “Alabuga”.
Upon arrival at the SEZ “Alabuga”, Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the presentation of the graduates’ projects. Graduates of the corporate university "Alabuga" spoke about the further development of the region’s human resources, prospects for building the infrastructure in the economic zone, as well as projects in the field of petrochemicals, biotechnology and mechanical engineering.
According to the results of the presentation, Rustam Minnikhanov approved a long-term plan for the development of a special economic zone “Alabuga” for 2020-2030. It included projects for the construction of a new railway track with a length of 12 km; the construction of new industrial parks; the construction of social and educational infrastructure to develop the human potential of the Republic of Tatarstan; reconstruction and development of the water supply system in the Yelabuga town and the SEZ “Alabuga”.
The next point of the President’s visit was the Polymatiz plant, the total investment of which today is 1.46 billion rubles.
Polymatiz is a full-cycle company. The main product is polypropylene non-woven material, which is used in many industries: the manufacture of furniture, filter elements, personal hygiene products, various types of covers, agricultural textiles, as well as disposable shoe covers, caps, bathrobes and medical masks. Rustam Minnikhanov discussed with top managers of the company the issue of manufacturing material for medical masks. The plant can produce 500 thousand masks per hour.
President of the Republic of Tatarstan visited the STEM-center for training highly qualified personnel. Investments of the SEZ "Alabuga" in equipping amounted to 80 million rubles today. Graduates of secondary schools in the Yelabuga town study in four specialties. Duration of study - 3 years 10 months.
At the end, the President visited the industrial park “Synergy-2”. This is a unique park with an area of 75,900 m² with gas supply and an independent air-handling unit in each module.
“If we used to build everything here, now Alabuga itself builds everything, all infrastructure. This is the best special economic zone in Russia! ”, - expressed Rustam Minnikhanov.
