Ford Sollers announces localization increase
On February 27, Ford Transit received even more structural elements of Russian production, as part of the modernization.
Ford Sollers continues to develop cooperation with domestic manufacturers of automotive components. So, in the process of localization, all Ford Transit modifications are now equipped with single-leaf parabolic springs made of steel grade 50KHGFA manufactured at the Chusovoy Metallurgical Works with improved rubber-metal hinges. Thanks to such changes, it was possible to increase the stiffness and reliability of this rear suspension element. The results of road tests confirmed that the Chusovoy Metallurgical Works products meet all the requirements of Ford and compete on equal terms with the world's leading counterparts.
In addition, as part of the development of the priority direction for Ford Sollers - vertical localization, which provides for the organization in Russia of the entire production chain from the extraction of raw materials to the production of finished components, deliveries of bumpers for Ford Transit from Heaton-Plast 2 from local material. The supply chain includes enterprises of the petrochemical and automotive industries of the Republic of Tatarstan: PJSC Tatneft - production, PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim (Nizhnekamsk) - base polymers, LLC Heaton Plast 2 - bumper. Thus, the entire production chain from oil production and processing of raw materials to the manufacture of parts and its installation on a vehicle is 100% localized. Local dashboards and door panels for Ford Transit are also made from local raw materials.
In addition, the Ford Transit car received new steel wheels from a supplier in Tatarstan - the company “Accuride Wheels Russia”, made from Russian raw materials.
The modernization of automobiles and production, the qualitative development of the dealer network, as well as the flexible system of creating special versions for the tasks of a particular customer, allow Ford Transit to remain the leader in the LCV segment among foreign brands for several years. The popularity of the model is largely provided by loyalty programs and special offers that are regularly developed for their customers.

It produces Ford Transit cars using full cycle technology at its own plant in the SEZ "Alabuga" (Elabuga, Republic of Tatarstan). SOLLERS PJSC is a managing shareholder with a 51% share in the authorized capital. The renewed joint venture officially began operations in July 2019.
