Minister of Economy of Turkey: "I know which investor each Turkish plant belongs to in Alabuga

The Minister of Economy of the Republic of Turkey, Nihat Zeibecchi, highly appreciated the efforts of the special economic zone «Alabuga» for attract investors from Turkey. As he stated in October, 21 before the 15th meeting of the mixed intergovernmental Russian-Turkish commission on trade and economic cooperation in Kazan, he personally knows every Turkish investor working in the SEZ.
The meeting was also attended by the co-chairman of the commission from the Russian side — the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak and the president of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
Before the meeting, its participants got acquainted with the exposition reflecting the cooperation of Tatarstan and Turkey. At the stand of the SEZ Alabuga" a brief presentation of the special economic zone was conducted by its CEO Timur Shagivaleev. He noted that Turkish investors are well acquainted with the special economic zone. «I even know which investor each Turkish plant belongs to in Alabuga», — the Minister of Economy of Turkey said in response.
Timur Shagivaleev said that in the first quarter of next year Alabuga will open a joint venture between the Turkish company Coskunoz Alabuga and the PJSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works («MMK»), a service metal center for the production of metal blanks for the stamping industry.
Alabuga for today is the largest platform for attracting Turkish investments to Russia in industry. Today there are 6 plants created with the participation of investors from Turkey in Alabuga, the total amount of Turkish investments in industrial projects in the Tatarstan SEZ exceeds $1 billion.
