Supervisory Board of “Alabuga” approved 250m USD project of new resident

Supervisory board of SEZ headed by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has approved the project of plant on cold-rolled flat product production today. Stated volume of investments amounts to 250 million dollars.

At the beginning of first Supervisory board in 2018 President of Tatarstan mentioned that there are 56 residents in SEZ “Alabuga”, 23 of them are operating now, and staff number exceeds 6 thousand employees. “I find it a result of huge effort”, - stated Rustam Minnikhanov.

OOO “Gemont Metall” laid claim to become a resident of “Alabuga”, its entity on cold-rolled flat product production is planned to be brought into production in the third quarter of 2020. At the first stage 770 000 ton of cold-rolled, heat-strengthened, zinc-coated, colored flat products will be produced. Further this volume will increase to 1 250 000 ton a year.

Finished goods will be applied in many sectors such as electric household equipment production, automobile industry, roof cladding and pipelines production. Staff number will amount to 320 employees.

JSC “SEZ IPT “Alabuga” CEO Timur Shagivaleev informed that all points concerning land and infrastructure were solved. By the start of production a new railway line will have been built.

“The volume of goods is large – they should be brought in and taken out. It’s a good job for railways, - stated Rustam Minnikhanov. – We are interested in this project, and we will provide a maximum possible support.”

At the end of the meeting members of Supervisory Board voted for approval of special economic zone “Alabuga” new resident.
