The resident of Alabuga «Kastamonu» produced 100 million square meters of laminate for the Russian market
The resident of Alabuga - the leading company of the woodworking industry in Russia – the Kastamonu company – has produced 100 million square meters of laminate for the domestic market for 7.5 years. This mark was reached in February 2022.
The leaders in terms of laminate supplies among the regions are the Central (43%), Volga (18%) and Southern (14%) federal districts, in total they account for 75% of products. Next are the Siberian (8%) and Northwestern (8%) federal districts. The remaining regions account for less than 10% of deliveries in total.
At the same time, the laminate of the 33rd class of wear resistance accounted for 56% of deliveries, the laminate of the 32nd class - 32%, and the laminate of the 31st class - 12%. Laminate of the 34th class still occupies the smallest share due to the recent launch on the market in September 2021.
«We are very glad that we have reached such a beautiful mark – 100 million square meters of laminate. The main goal of the company is to make people's lives more comfortable and convenient, and we sincerely believe that we have been able to do this for more than seven years since the launch of the plant in Russia. Kastamonu products are the result of the hard work of hundreds of our specialists in production and in the office, and we are grateful to everyone for their contribution. This year we will definitely continue to move towards new achievements», comments the CEO of Kastamonu Russia Ali Kılıç.
In March 2021, the company launched the third laminate production line in Alabuga in record time. Thanks to this, the annual volume of laminate flooring produced has grown from 30 million m2 to 45 million m2.
The CEO of Kastamonu in Russia, Ali Kılıç, highly appreciates the contribution of SEZ «Alabuga» to the development of large-scale woodworking production: « SEZ «Alabuga» is undoubtedly our partner. We are proud that there is very good management in Tatarstan, in Alabuga. If you feel that the management is good, any obstacles can be overcome!»
Today, Alabuga is a full–cycle infrastructure partner that provides the best conditions and opportunities for investors. SEZ «Alabuga» has long ceased to be an ordinary land plot with connected communications and tax benefits, being at the moment a grid company with its own power grid and lowering infrastructure, having its own construction company, a modern training center for workers and an international school.
For reference:
The «Kastamonu Entegre» company group was formed in 1969 as part of the «Hayat Holding». The company specializes in the production of FDF, chipboard, laminated flooring, door linings and glossy panels. The consolidated turnover of «Kastamonu Entegre» is $1.7 billion. The annual production volume of wood slabs is 6.5 million m3, laminate flooring – 70 million m2.
«Hayat Holding», which includes «Kastamonu Entegre», was founded in 1937 and currently consists of 41 companies in various business areas. Hayat unites brands such as Papia, Familia, Bingo, Molfix and many others.
«Kastamonu Entegre» has 18 companies in 7 countries: Turkey, Russia, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the USA. The company ranks 5th in the world and 4th in Europe among the largest manufacturers of the woodworking industry.
Recall that in September 2021, Kastamonu expanded its product portfolio with laminate of the highest – 34th - class of wear resistance. At the same time, the manufacturer was the first in the Russian market to produce a laminate of the 34th class, certified for two indicators at once: abrasion and impact resistance, unlike the European standard, which regulates only the abrasion index.
In August 2021, the analytical agency WhatWood conducted a study of the Russian laminate and FDF market, in which it compared the shares of the largest manufacturers of the woodworking industry. According to the results of the study, Kastamonu ranks first in Russia in terms of production capacity of laminate floors and FDF.
